How it works

The managed-store model in four steps, followed by a plain description of who owns what and how money moves. There are no intermediaries in the payment chain.

The model

Four steps

1. The brand owner supplies the products

You provide the product range, pricing guidance and brand assets. We agree the retail plan: storefront scope, target market, plan level and operating budget. Decisions on what is sold, and at what price, always remain with you.

2. TCJA builds and hosts the storefront

We design and build a dedicated online store for the brand, load the catalogue and configure the operational processes. You review and approve the store before it goes live.

3. The store trades under the client's company

The storefront operates as your retail outlet. Orders are placed with your business, and customer payments are processed by your payment provider directly into your business account.

4. TCJA operates the store and invoices its fees

Our team handles orders, listings, customer service and marketing. You pay the monthly management fee and the success fee, both published on the pricing page. There are no other charges.

Where the money goes

  1. The customer places an order on your storefront.
  2. Payment is taken by your payment provider, under your own account.
  3. Funds settle into your business account, minus the provider's processing fee.
  4. TCJA invoices the management fee and success fee separately, once a month.

The two money flows never meet. We do not touch sales revenue, and we have no ability to move funds out of your account.

Customer payments on managed storefronts are processed by Stripe or a similar provider engaged by the store owner, and settle into that store's own business account. TCJA Products Ltd is not a payment institution, does not process or settle customer payments, and does not hold client funds at any point.

Ending the service

How the handover works

After the initial three-month term, either party may end the service with 30 days' written notice. The handover is set out in the terms of service:

Data export

Store content, product data, customer records, order history and analytics, delivered in structured formats within 14 days of termination.

Accounts and credentials

Every account held on your behalf is listed, documented and re-pointed to owners you nominate.

Open orders

Orders already placed are completed, customer service is wound down cleanly, and hosting transition is scheduled. No exit fees.

Questions

Model questions

Why does each store trade under the client's own company?
Because the products and the customer relationship belong to the client. Selling under the client's company keeps VAT, accounting and legal responsibility with the seller, where it belongs. It also means the store's payment processing history builds on the client's own business account.
Can TCJA see our revenue?
Yes. We need completed order data to calculate the success fee and to produce reports. What we do not have is any ability to move funds: settlement runs through your own payment provider into your own account, and our access is operational, not financial.
Who is responsible for consumer law compliance?
The seller, which is the client. We operate the store to the required standard and keep the records that evidence compliance, including order records and customer service correspondence. Commercial decisions such as refunds and goodwill gestures remain with you.
Can we change payment provider later?
Yes. The payment provider relationship is yours. We support the switchover operationally, including checkout configuration and testing, at no charge beyond normal operations.
What happens to our data if we leave?
You receive a complete structured export of store content, product data, customer records and order history within 14 days of termination, and all accounts are handed back to nominees of your choosing.
